Seven Hundred Fifty Dollars A Night
ICE and the Border Patrol it seems
Have separated children in a manner extreme
In contracted facilities truly filthy and obscene
Substandard facilities beyond belief
No showers no water- pure grief.
Trump’s people have no soul
Forcing women to drink from a toilet bowel
And the contractor’s fees are out of sight
Charging the government an exorbitant bite
Particularly when crowding fosters disease contagious
$750 per child per night is outrageous
No blankets, bad food, concrete floors—a veritable hell
It would be cheaper and fitting do tell
To lodge them in Trump hotels
Which tells you that the motivation is not solely racism primitive
But also, egregious greed and acutely remunerative.
Yes this humanitarian extravaganza
Is for private prisons a veritable bonanza
A cynical way to monetize
Which any compassionate person with eyes
Can plainly see
Is asylum seekers misery.
