Trump’s Dog Whistle Trumpet
Joe Biden uttered some of the most truthful words ever spoken in a campaign
“If you vote for Trump you ain’t black” * he said, and many rose up to complain
In my opinion this is political correctness carried to absurdity
Considering Trump’s overt racial perversity.
Racism is embedded in his history and DNA in fact
Woodie Guthrie pointed out Old Man Trump discrimination
Saying “Beach Haven looks like heaven
Where no black ones come to roam”…an abomination. (*)
Fred made fortunes building post WWII housing
And was also allowed to collect the rents
But he discriminated against blacks at great cost
The government sued and Fred Trump lost.
With Donald racism is very much alive
Considering his vilification of the Central Park Five
With full page ads before and even after their exoneration
He attacked them with great vituperation
And the absurd Obama Birther polemic
Provided his entre into electoral politics
(According to Adam Curtis its genesis
Arose in Putin’s Soviet Russia)
We all remember Charlottesville where
Trump backed the racists by saying there
Were “good people on both sides”.
But clearly the violence on one side resides.
He traveled to Dallas to discuss police actions and matters race
But manages to exclude a place
For the black sheriff, black district attorney and black police chief
Not and oversight and not a gesture for obtaining racial relief
More recently Trump’s dog whistles have become a blaring Trumpet
The Convention celebration has moved to Jacksonville to stay (**)
On the anniversary of the August 27, 1960 Ax Handle Saturday where 200 whites beat blacks with ax handles and metal baseball bats.
And he plans a great rally in Tulsa on June Teenth on the anniversary of (June 19, 1865)
When blacks finally learned they were free
Based on Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation of 1863
And freedom for black first came alive.
And although he is advancing the event by one day
Stating his rally is a celebration by white racists hordes
He can’t undo the damage with a few disingenuous words
No the time and place of Tulsa cuts like a veritable sword.
But this will be a double insult for blacks in Tulsa Trump has mastered
As this will be when Tulsa acknowledges the anniversary of the Tulsa massacre
Where hundreds were killed and 32 blocks with firebombs devastatingly employed
Where thriving Greenwood (known as Black Wall Street) was totally destroyed.
But Trumps actions are consonant with Republican Southern Strategy traditions that abound
Reagan strategically started his 1980 campaign at the Neshoba County Fairground
Near Philadelphia, Mississippi in 1980 by stating: “I believe in states’ rights”
Where Goodman, Schwerner and Chaney were murdered helping the voting rights to fight.
For Reagan this was a coded Dog Whistle its intent eminently clear.
But Trumps actions blare out as an amplified Trumpet
Signaling to his racist followers in language plain
I’m with you, bring you guns…we can fight the Civil War again.
So Joe Biden was 100% correct, the evidence is crystal clear – he shouldn’t look back.
Although Trump proclaims he has done much (like Lincoln) for blacks
The contrary evidence can not be washed away.
Trump’s a racist and will be such until his dying day.
And just in case in your mind any doubts linger
The evidence is indisputable
Trump has just given the black community a gigantic finger
(*) Will Kaufman: Quartz. Woody Guthrie really did not like Donald Trump’s racist dad. January 21, 2016. Kaufman spent time in the Woodie Guthrie Center in Tulsa, and studied many of Guthrie’s songs on racial injustice and more details on Fred Trump. Guthrie came to detest Fred Trump when he lived in his Beach Haven housing project.
(**) I have discussed the above in the setting of the Coronavirus epidemic (The Republican Cult Meets Jonestown) where Trump by having large rallies is flaunting CDC Guidelines and in Jacksonville where COVID-19 cases are massively ascendant is potentially exposing his cult-like sheep to disease and possible death. Clearly he is aware of this, but does not care, for all participants are being required to sign a waiver releasing Trump from legal responsibility for any disease they may acquire. Clearly, reelection is his only concern.

***Title IV of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 detailed the abuses used by Southern racists to deprive blacks the right to vote. Title V required those states to get approval from the US Justice Department before making any changes to voting procedures. Chief Justice Rehnquist (who worked with the Republican Party in Phoenix to deprive black and brown voters by sending a post card to be sent back for stay on the voter rolls). He detested the Civil Rights Act as did his acolyte the current Chief Justice John Roberts. In Holder v. Shelby County Alabama he got the court to rule that the transgressions detained in Title IV were no longer relevant and were therefore unconstitutional. If title IV were unconstitutional, then Title V, the absolute heart of the Civil Rights act was then irrelevant. Immediately something like 30 states made changes to their voting laws that dramatically cut back the franchise for blacks and brown people. We all have seen this: limiting the number of polling places. Photo IDs were another ruse. They had to be issued by the DMV, the number of offices were dramatically reduced. In addition, many elderly people did not drive so could not get one (not to mention the cost). Also, birth Certificates were valid, but many black southerners did not have them.
Then there was the interference in the Ohio election when a man in the middle scheme was used to change the results giving Bush enough electoral votes to win. Then Jeb Bush and Catherine Harris, his secretary of state purged the voting rolls of democratic voters in an election in Florida Bush won by a little over 500 votes, where the recount was disrupted by republican operatives (Brooks Brothers squad) who disrupted the recount and permitted the Supreme Court in a one off ruling to select Bush.
Since then we have seen Gov. Kobach’s Interstate Voter Cross Check stuck thousands of people from the rolls who happened to have the same name as someone living in another state with no systemic means of proving identity.
During the Pandemic the Supreme Court mandated an election rather than delaying and permitting mail in voting. We also saw astronomically long lines in poor areas with people waiting for hours, where is white districts people breezed through in 20 minutes.
Greg Palast and Ted Rall in How Trump Stole 2020 in Chapter one “The End” State Donald Trump was re-elected President on November 7, 2018.
Two years before a single ballot was cast. This will be because the court in a 5-4 decision allowed the State of Ohio to aggressively purge their voter rolls in Husted v. A Philip Randolph Institute. Since then, Palast has documented the purging of close to 17 million voters.
Kemp in Georgia purged 1/7 African Americans from the voter rolls.
There not enough white men to elect Trump. The only way he can win is by preventing people from voting. The republican party, the most dangerous party in the history of the world based on their universal denial of climate are working to a man to disenfranchise voters to keep Trump in office.
Joe Biden has much baggage, but he is clearly the least worst between him and Trump.
Today, exactly 100 days before the November election, I watched John R. Lewis’s casket leave the Brown Chapel AME Church in Selma, be placed on a caisson, be carried across the Edmund Pettus Bridge, and loaded into a hearse with the assistance of Alabama state troopers who 55 years ago smashed John Lewis’s skull with truncheons. John was injured so badly he had no memory of how he found refuge back in the church after the march.
John fought his whole live for the right of African Americans to vote. Understand that Trump and the entire Republican party are doing every conceivable machinations and dirty tricks to prevent African Americans from voting in the November election.
And for the reasons detailed above, I believe Biden’s comment “If you vote for Trump, “you ain’t black” is manifestly true. We all need to heed Joe Bidens warning because the fate of American democracy itself is hanging by a thin thread.
