America Is Helping Genocide in Yemen
America; Land of the Free and Home of the Brave
Defender of liberty and democracy and unwilling to save
Those living under the yoke of repression and targets of kill
We inhabitants of that shining city on the hill
Are nothing of the sort- from the beginning our genocide
Is indisputable – and no mystery
An integral part of our history
Slavery and since WWII our proxy wars
We have killed in the name of noble causes
So, considering Bushes and Clinton’s wars that launched
The continuing destruction of the middle east
Our support of one of the most repressive regimes
In the world is just keeping in character
Obama sold them $100 billion in armaments
Trump duplicates the feat
(There isn’t a dictator we won’t greet)
But our support of the Saudi Yemini war
Trumps what we have done before
Weapons, guidance, refueling we lend a helping hand
While the Saudi’s gruesomely destroy a land
Focusing on civilian infrastructure: schools, hospitals
Destroying health and sanitary facilities
And are they proud of producing the largest cholera
Epidemic in the world?
And the port blockade prevents medical supplies
And cutting the food supply is producing a famine
Of unimaginable proportions.
Their Yemini war is our war.
We hung Germans for such actions.
Make no mistake, these are genocidal war crimes
And in a just world they would be recognized as such
But just as Bush ignored the Saudi 911 role
To keep safe and expand our flow Iraqi and Saudi oil
So too we enrich our weaponeers
As the stock market cheers
And we are as guilty as the Saudis
In facilitating this genocide.

Comment: 3-17-2022 as Putin is laying waste to the Ukrainian population: Biden plans on visiting MBS (literally the butcher of Khoshogi) to augment the oil lost to the sanctions on the brutal kleptocratic dictator, Putin. MBS is demanding the US increase support for the Yemen war. Putin’s actions are inexcusable. As Judge Jackson said during the Nuremberg Trials: An aggressive war represents the “accumulated evil of the who” since it encompasses every war crime. Putin’s total war on civilians reminds us of the 650,000 children Madeline Albright admitted were killed by Clinton’s embargo, and the 950,000 Iraqi’s killed in an aggressive war based on lies, and the myriad victims in Afghanistan, Libya and Syria. The pot is calling the kettle black. We are experiencing very dark times.
But modern war is a war crime. 90% of casualties are civilians. Weapons manufacture is lucrative. International law has been emasculated. Only rarely are perpetrators prosecuted. Diplomacy was turned over to the defense department. We have few tools to fight this scourge…. HC
