The Military Commissions Act of 2006 set the precedent
In giving unlimited powers to the US president
Who without due process takes into his hands
The right to kill foreigners in any or all foreign lands
More recently the president has declared the right
To kill even those Americans he considers blight
And so on Tuesdays he sits around a table and debates
His personal kill list and decides the fates
Of presumed terrorists who will be targeted for annihilation
By a lethal drone- tomahawk missile transaction
Rest assured collateral damage’s not part of the mission
And by tautology –
We need render no apology—
Since anyone dead is a terrorist by definition
