Mr. Trump’s Wild Ride Down the Rockville Pike
The president’s penchant for adulation knows no bounds
As he outrageously enjoys a spontaneous joy ride around the hospital grounds
His unannounced elopement from medical care
Sees him waving to supporters on the Rockville Pike with their flags in the air
Happily leading a cavalcade
In a hermetically sealed armored Suburban parade
Although the Secret Service are wearing N-95 masks
Trump’s cloth mask is of doubtful utility
In a hermetically sealed space – as closed a space as a space could be
Specifically designed to protect from chemical attack
Aerosolized corona virus it seems to me
Is potentially as lethal as Hitler’s vans dispensing Zyklon-B.
Trump’s wild ride was for him a cause for celebration
As his fragile ego basks in his cult followers adoration
Yes, he excels at bring his crowd around
As his flagrant lies abound
But the numbers when read
Show over 7 millions infections with 210,000 dead
And this bizarre trip down the Rockville Pike
Surely furthered virus spread
And was reminiscent of his biblical lark
Across La Fayette Park
Facilitated by storm troops manifest
In disrupting peaceful protest
For his sacrilegious act with great flair
So he could be photographed with a bible upside-down in the air.
It seems that Trump is obviously to his viruses’ potential lethality
Where in cytokine storm the immune system goes berserk
And toxic molecules go to work
Destroying organs with incredible alacrity
And the patient in front of your very eyes
Unceremoniously precipitously dies.
No this irresponsible self-centered puerile stunt
Exposed him, his attendants and the country to unnecessary dangers
Dropped off back at the White House by a giant Helicopter
He displays his vitality in a Mussolini-style balcony video shot
While obviously short of breath
(and possibly a portent of impending death).
And the next day back in the White House Pest House Trump breaks quarantine
Showing up for work in the Oval Office West Wing
And what is his motivation?
His niece Mary has given a revelation:
His dad Fred Trump hated weakness in any form
Including being ill…being healthy his norm
Showing up to work in the Oval Office
Proves to himself he’s one strong dude
But he can’t control his virus shedding and above all
Is recklessly and callously exposing his staff
Contrary to his own administration’s CDC protocol
And at the next day’s video op he says it a blessing in disguise
A gift from God—he discovered his cure in his eyes
Quick, nominate him for a Nobel Prize
Or maybe the steroids have made him mad full out
And he should be confined to a nut house.
And of his caretakers unbelievable duress
In effecting the logistics of this incredible mess*
He is just so self-centered and oblivious–
He just could not care less.
