Perseveration Nation Highlighted This July 4th
This year’s July 4h celebration
Is disrupted by the 315th mass shooting this year in our nation.
Perpetrated by the usual young white male
Raining bullets on innocents like hail.
Using the terrorist’s favorite weapon of choice:
An AR-15-like assault weapon with a wicked voice.
An occurrence so usual one concludes with alacrity
The weapon and shooter can be predicted with unfailing accuracy.
Congress had written a sensible law
The senate, however, the worst cowards you ever saw.
Are terrified by the NRA financial support
And I’m sad to report
Enabled by an ideologically activist supreme court.
Espousing everyman’s God-given right
To own a weapon of unparalleled might.
Military weapons that with precision
Can cause ghastly decapitation and evisceration.
A court so devoid of common sense
They mandate in New York open carry creating problems immense.
The Supreme Court’s roles
Should be to help helpless souls.
This court, however, panders to those with money in hand
And represents a most destructive force in our land.
Over and over congress perseverates with hypocritical
Meaningless prayers of hope and condolences.
While assiduously avoiding meaningful solutions.
This enabling mass killers represents a perseveration machine.
The most diabolically evil situation I’ve ever seen.
But the most damning and incriminating recurring themes:
These lethal weapons are usually purchased “by legal means.”
