Secret Little Dirty Wars
(a tribute to Rick Rowley and Jeremy Scahill)
Investigating in Afghanistan they found
evidence of a mysterious military force profound
of teams of soldiers marauding in the middle of the night
killing and terrorizing and causing great fright
they found a war hidden from our view
and a way of fighting that was new
in the village of Gardez in rural Afghanistan
innocents were killed in a covert raid
and the bullets from the bodies carefully pried
to conceal how the innocent victims died
in a raid that that represented a huge mistake
in targeting innocents while they celebrated
